Long Reach Community Action and Resources for Environmental Stewardship (CARES)
Long Reach CARES aims to educate and empower neighbors to steward our private and shared spaces in sustainable, environmentally friendly ways. The Long Reach Watershed Advisory Committee’s outreach expanded beyond waterways, and its members overlapped, so it made sense to combine it with the CARES committee.
CARES hosts and participates in numerous events throughout the year, including sustainable landscaping tours, educational booths at community events, Weed Warriors, native plant giveaways, Eastern Bluebird nest box monitoring, village trash cleanups, pull & plants, birdwatching, and more! MEETINGS: CARES typically meets on a Thursday of every month at 7 pm. The meetings are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. The meeting locations may vary. Some may be in person at Stonehouse or outside if the weather is nice, while others may be virtual.
If the meeting is virtual, contact CARES at cares@longreach.org at least 24 hours before the meeting for the link.
