Eagles, Owls & the Bird Atlas – Feb 16

February 16, 2023 at 7pm

Did you know that Howard County has at least 6 breeding pairs of bald eagles? Eagles and owls are the first birds of the nesting season and in this talk you will learn their calls and how to find them. You will also learn how to identify, support, and protect many of the other birds in your own backyard.

The Maryland/DC Breeding Bird Atlas is a citizen science project mapping the distribution of breeding birds every 10-square miles. Sue Muller, Howard County Co-Coordinator, gives an overview of the project and will show you how easy it is to help collect and contribute data as we enter the fourth year of a five-year study in 2023. This is an interactive webinar – come with your questions about birds!

This free, hour-long presentation will be held Online via Zoom.
