Did you know Long Reach Village is one of three Sustainable Communities in Howard County, and each has their own unique plan? The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Sustainable Communities Program is a place-based designation offering a comprehensive package of resources that support holistic strategies for community development, revitalization & sustainability.
Howard County Planning and Zoning presented information about the Sustainable Communities program at the October 19 Board Meeting. Click below to view the presentations:

Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning is initiating a renewal application for Long Reach’s Sustainable Communities designation. This designation, administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, provides resources that support place-based strategies for revitalization and sustainability. Integral to this renewal process is the development of the Sustainable Community Action Plan which identifies the initiatives and projects that are ideal for the revitalization within the Long Reach community over the next five years.
Community feedback is a vital aspect of constructing these strategies and priorities! There are two ways in which you can be part of the engagement process.
